ISO Registration

Overview of ISO Registration

ISO Registration: ISO is the abbreviation for the International Organization for Standardization. Greek ISOS, which means "equal," is where the word ISO originates. The International Federation of the National Standardizing Associations (ISA), which is how ISO got its start, was established in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1920. It was suspended in 1942 due to the Second World War, but when representatives from the ISA and UNSCC convened in London in October 1946, they decided to collaborate to create the new International Organization for Standardization. The brand-new organization began operations in February 1947.

The short-form name for the organization was adopted because the full name, International Organization for Standardization (ISO), would translate differently in different languages. With approximately 16,500 international standards published, the ISO has grown into a federation of delegates representing more than 150 nations. They meet frequently to talk about both new and old management norms.
